Continuing with EmJ Lefebvre’s July WWM Challenge (See here for first article) , this is what I accomplished on days 8 through 14.

Day 8 – Glazing and Layering.

Day 9 – Compound brush strokes – leaf exercise.

Day 10 – Compound strokes – flower exercise.

Day 11 – Create Complementary and Analogous colour palettes and create a painting using one of those palettes.

Day 12 – Values – create the same painting twice, one w/o values, the other with values.

Day13 – Lifting

Day 14 – Create clouds with three different methods: lifting, negative painting, blending.

And, in case you’re curious, for this challenge I am using a Paul Rubens 5×7 cold-press 100% cotton journal and a mixture of paints (mostly W&N Cotman as well as some Da Vinci and Daniel Smith colours).
