Last year, I took part in a July World Watercolour Month Challenge with Canadian watercolour artist and instructor EmJ Lefebvre. Each and every day in July, she offered a 15-minute tutorial on watercolour basics and various techniques. I learned so much from that month-long session and had so much fun doing it.
And she’s offering a new challenge this year, which you can access on her YouTube channel.
Her classes are very attuned to brand new watercolourists as well as anyone who wants a refresher to hone their skills, and just plain have fun.

I recall Susan mentioning the July 2025 Watercolour challenge in an earlier Collective Creativity post, and had just recently started following Emma Lefebvre’s Youtube channel. I’m new to watercolour and I’m (nearly) always up for a challenge!

I started the course last fall—or was it in the summer? Other things cropped up and I didn’t finish it, but I will have a look and see what she is up to this summer. I enjoyed following her tutorials and am very grateful that you introduced me to them.
