Fun with Collage by Lynne Ayers

I love creating with collage. It’s like painting with paper … a bit of this colour, some of that shape.  I make my own papers using a gelli plate (which is a fun creative process on its own). I make some using stencils and I also use my own photographs, which have the added benefit of being able to print another one if I find one I particularly like. 

I currently prefer to use lighter weight papers, particularly tissue which melts right into the canvas – wet-strength tissue, not dollar store tissue.  I tape a sheet of tissue to copy paper using painters tape and it runs through my printer with no problem.  

The works become a combination of paint (acrylic) and papers
