The Collectif Inducted into Cornwall Arts Hall of Fame

This honour comes one week after the official closure of our arts group.

The Cornwall Arts Hall of Fame selected nine nominees to be inducted into the hall for 2026. Among them, The Collectif, in part for “the success of community rejuvenation endeavours . . . evident in the many murals that beautify the area & in the long list of community events hosted over the years.”

Heady words! Reinforced by several signed accreditations from our Federal MP . . .

As well as our provincial parliament member . . .

And the residents, Mayor & City Council of Cornwall . . .

And to top it off, this attractive lapel pin celebrating the arts in their many forms . . .

As President Bobi Leutschaft Poitras said to members at last week’s final Annual General Meeting & closing party:

Everyone who has ever been part of The Collectif made it what it was. There was certainly hard work involved, & plenty of thoughtful planning. But there was also laughter, wonderful conversations, shared experiences, & so many moments of triumph. We created art, we created opportunities, & we created memories. Along the way, we brought joy to one another & to so many people in our community.

Recognition by The Cornwall Arts Hall of Fame is a proud if bittersweet conclusion to a great ten-year run.
