I saw this cross body purse in Dollarama for $5. After examining it I felt it appeared to be sturdy and quite roomy. (Which it surprisingly is!) It is made of canvas, is lined inside, has three zippered pockets and a fourth open pocket, with one inner zippered pouch.
At that price I thought it worth taking a chance so I bought it and tried some stencilling on it.

Many of you may remember the Coffee House meeting when we painted stencilled T-shirts, so it is pretty well the same thing. I did it in stages, letting it dry between additions, so as not to smear the paint. When all was dry, I went over it again in places with different colours and a thin black Posca marker.
I was quite pleased with the result, so I went out and purchased another, which I intend to paint as a birthday gift for one of my daughters.

As you can see, they are not made in exactly the same configuration. But they are close enough. I am not sure how I will do the second one, but I know I’ll have fun doing it.
Very cool Susan and so original.
