Amour/ Love, Digital art, Art numérique

By Susan Irving This is a portrait I did way back in 2021 of my daughter Sonja and our dog Jasmine. Sorry if it is not more clear. I had it professionally framed and did not wish to remove it from the frame.

Love

Love you girl
I didn't really mean to hurt you so
I didn't truly want to let you know
Admit to how I need and yearn for you.
I'm the fool
For finding ways to strut and act so cool
Not saying how I loved the way you are
Not giving you the love you so deserve

Since you went away
Life has lost its glow
Each and every day
Seems less friend than foe
Oh baby, how I ache
From a pain that sears
Oh baby, how I weep
Thinking of your tears
Sending you away
'Cause I wouldn't say
That I loved you so much dear
I love you, love you dear

Listen babe
I never learned to say what's in my heart
But things have changed since we have been apart
These words express the feelings deep inside
Now I know
Why life means so much more with someone there
If only I had known then, how to share
My inner thoughts lodged very deep within

Since you went away
Life has lost its glow
Each and every day
Seems less friend than foe
Oh baby, how I ache
From a pain that sears
Oh baby, how I weep
Thinking of your tears
Sending you away
'Cause I wouldn't say
That I loved you so much dear
I love you, love you dear

Parler d'amour est un vrai défi.

J'aime garder mes sentiments pour moi.

Même si mon visage me trahit parfois.

En Anglais c’est plus facile. Allez savoir pourquoi!

LOVE

It was not love at first sight

I loved you before I'd met you

Your accent was rich, raw, intriguing

Your words spoke of white winters

And open spaces

9125 days gap year later

I finally set eye - and foot - on you

My Canada

And all I felt, all I knew.

You filled the longing

A simple sense of home hitting

A deep sense of grounding

A strong sense of belonging.

By Barb Lehtiniemi At a recent art class, held at the newly-opened Glengarry Hub, instructor Jessica introduced the class to the colourful art of Laurel Burch.

Inspired by Burch’s “Fabulous Felines”, I sketched my own version of a fanciful and colourful cat, which I call Love Cat.  I used Derwent’s “Inktense” ink pencils for the sketch.
