Collectif Challenge: 4Apr2025 Green / verte

By Margaret Stewart Nature giving  us a GREEN version of a old  house.

This is  a pond  where I  used to do landscaping. The large carp are hiding under the green leaves.

Interesting , the camera (not an iPhone) has the landscape looking like a Monet  painting.

October 1st.

The rain was heavy with  dark clouds. One can see many layers and shades of green through the line of trees.

The  storm passes, all is quiet, and a double Rainbow shows off. Then we have a new layer of wet green leaves reflecting many shades of green.

By Véronique Gerland  Du haut de ses 44 cm, le héron vert chasse poissons et grenouilles. La majorité de la population de hérons verts du Canada se reproduit dans les marais intérieurs de l’Ontario

At 44 cm tall, the green heron hunts fish and frogs. The majority of Canada’s green heron population breed in the inland marshes of Ontario.

By Yvonne Callaway Many years ago I painted a three self-portraits riffing on Warhol’s remark about everyone experiencing 15 minutes of fame. I also appropriated his reuse of similar images in a variety of colours. My series is red, yellow & green.

By Bobi Leutschaft Poitras I was playing with light, and this painting was the result. Underneath are all colours of sunset, but finally I decided on green and achieved what I wanted. Not a masterpiece by any means, but I like it everytime I look at it.

By Ruth Stanton I doodled the tiny people and floral arrangements during a meeting recently. I find keeping my hands busy—doodling, crocheting or note taking—actually keeps me focused on what’s being said. Otherwise, I start to day dream or nod off. I encircled in green in keeping with the challenge of the month.

By Susan Irving For the GREEN challenge, here are a few photos I have taken of my garden over the years. The garden is ever changing and these photos, with their luscious greens, give me much joy as I revisit them  over the long winters.

By Lynne Ayers Painting landscapes, green plays a part in most pieces. But getting believable greens is a challenge – right out of the tube it never seems to be warm enough, or cool enough. I often add red to it but mostly I just mix my own.

By Laura Peck Just back from France, where spring welcomed me with its greens, yellows and purples, magnificent camellias and magnolias. I was given this lovely object. Will you guess what it is?

  • Hidden, everyone is expecting me.
  • Small, you can hold me in your hand preciously.
  • Soft and hard, you must not swallow me.
  • I am the little token that was put by the baker in the King’s Cake last January.
