Collectif Creativity: 12Sep2023

by Bobi Leutschaft Poitras

This painting is 33 x 33 inches, acrylic on stretched linen.  It took weeks of small strokes and a lot of tweaking!  I hung it on my wall for weeks before adding the small batch of flowers to the grass and the black outline to the streak in the sky.

These photos represent only 10 of many, many more steps, and I went through four paint brushes like the one shown.

I painted this from a picture I took in Mariapolis, Manitoba, where my daughter is awed by beautiful sunsets almost every night.

  1. How fascinating! So many variations of the “same” sunset. Are they ever the same though? Thanks Bobi for this morning inspiration.

  2. It is so interesting to see the process. And it is also an interesting choice of material to paint on. Lovely work, Bobi, and thank you for sharing.
