Collectif Challenge: 1Sep2025, Fantasy / Fantasie

By Victoria Stevenson For Fantasy I want to show you the one I’m working on. It’s a burning winged angel. Also shirtless, because he was a fantasy of mine.

By Susan Irving  Many years ago (before 1984)  when I still went by the name of Susan Evely, I got it into my head that I should attempt to invent and illustrate some superheros.

These three were done with felt markers on paper and are all quite small  (8.5 x6″). Here are Fireman and Chester Chesthair.

And White Mouse, whose attributes I made a point of listing.

Another illustration  done around the same period, is Matador vs Goldfish, coloured inks on watercolour paper.

I don’t really remember why I decided to do this one, but it looks like I had fun doing it.

By Yvonne Callaway So what happens when the Frog Prince grows up, inherits the kingdom and doesn’t bother kissing a princess to become mortal? He becomes a Frog King!

Randawn
Each stroke now brought him closer to Her.
Each stroke told a story,
That emerged and drowned in the sea.
The first memory of Her:
Scents of flowers, thick, heavy like Her.
Welcoming, present, like Her.
Blue, yellow and pink, Her colors.
The last memory of Her
They told him “She was your Grandmother.
Across the ocean they took Her.
She’s gone forever."
Each stroke brought him closer to Her.
He now clearly sees the tall Ships.
He knows which one he’ll jump on.
He knows where he’ll sneak in.
And hide. Until he reaches Savannah.
